You can either create your Essentials site now, or create a Basic site now and upgrade it to Essentials at any time. Either way, once your yearly subscription ends, you can either have your Essentials site automatically renew or convert it to a Basic site and continue to use myfamily.com for free.
The cost is per site, not per member. That means that no matter how many members you have on your site, you will all receive an ad-free experience with higher upload limits, and it only costs one payment of $29.95 per year.
There is no limit on how much each site member can store on a site. However, each member is limited in the amount they can upload to a site per month. Essentials site members can upload 1 GB of photos, videos and files per calendar month. Basic sites members can upload 100 MB.
Our SiteSafeSM system backs up everything on your myfamily.com site in three ways. First, anything added to the site is backed up instantly. Secondly, another, separate backup copy is created at the end of each day. And finally, a third backup copy is created and stored in a granite vault at the end of each week.
Themes allow you customize the look and feel of your myfamily.com site by changing the colors, fonts, and background images. Essentials sites offer more professionally-designed themes than Basic sites. Essentials sites also give you access to the Custom Theme Builder, which allows you to create your own themes.
With an Essentials site, you can create a personalized web address ( i.e. http://www.myfamily.com/site/McKinneyFamily/ ), which is easier to remember, tell people over the phone and write down. And it’s just one more way to give your site a bit more of a personal, family feel.
