Cindy Rowzee - The Expert
Background and Experience
Cindy Rowzee grew up in upstate New York. As a child she watched her parents travel to neighboring states and to Canada in order to do genealogy work. It was at this time that her interest in genealogy began.
Cindy attended Brigham Young University, where she received her Family History degree with a focus on North American research. While in school she worked as at the Utah Valley Regional Family History Center. She also did several internships, one at the Utah Valley Regional FHC, one at the Family History Library in Salt Lake City, Utah, and another for the genealogical researching company, Lineages. After graduation she took the Accreditation Exam and became an Accredited Genealogist in the Northeastern States Region (now the Mid-Atlantic States Region). At that time she returned to upstate New York, where she has lived for the last several years.
Cindy is a Family History Consultant for the local Family History Center. She has also taught continuing education classes on beginning genealogy at the local community college. In addition to working on her own genealogy, she does a limited amount of professional research. Her passion is helping others to gain the skills they need to find their own ancestors. Cindy has just become the editor of the newsletter for the International Commission for the Accreditation of Professional Genealogist (ICAPGen).
Cindy is currently a stay at home mom of two little girls. She spends most of her spare time working on genealogy.
Cindy Rowzee's Message
"The census can provide wonderful information for you as you trace your ancestry. There is so much that you can get out of the census if you know where to look. It is an integral part of doing family history. Join me in this class and I can help you to learn how to find your family in the census. It has always been one of my favorite records to look through and I hope I can help you to enjoy it as much."
