Description of STARS Homeschool Co-op
We are a Christian Co-op that meets twice a month on Fridays. During the course of each regular session there is a worship time for everyone, recess for the students and a prayer time for the parents. Every family is expected to have one attending parent every time we meet, and all parents are expected to either lead teach, assist teach, or take a leadership role in the co-op.
We have 6 regular sessions each semester. We have classes in elementary, middle, and high school, according to the current needs of our families and availability of teachers. There is a nursery and a pre-school class as well.
Membership
The membership fee is nominal and voted on each year at our summer meetings. STARS uses this private members-only web site for sharing pertinent information, class syllabi, homework, pictures, and prayer requests. While STARS is inclusive in nature and believes in educational choice, you must believe that Jesus is the Christ: Son of the Living God, and attend a Christian church of your choice to be a member.
How to Join
To join STARS, contact our leader, Denise Phillips, at the address below. Denise will interview potential members and send them our Family Survey form, which contains your name, the names and ages of your children, and your contact information. Upon acceptance into STARS, you will be sent an invitation to this web site.
