Our family's website has been in place since February of 2002 and it keeps family members who live across the U.S. in touch with each other. We also have relatives in England, Ireland and Iraq who keep abreast of family news. The pictures are a favorite. New babies, graduations, new houses, growing kids seem to be popular, plus events like our annual family reunion and Christmas parties are all announced on the website. We have documented our family's history for the past five years with myfamily.com.

I also have a myfamily.com site for my high school graduation class. It started out with the Class of '68 and now has expanded to many, many graduates from my high school from various years. Old photos, photos of grandchildren, stories about our teachers and stories about what's going on at the school today seem to be the most popular. We've also heard from people who we hadn't seen or heard from since graduation, all due to the communication on the website.

I use myfamily.com in three ways. I have three family websites that I use to stay in touch with relatives on my father’s, mother’s and wife’s sides of the family. I also use it at work to share files with other co-workers who may be out of the office. We travel a lot and often realize that we have forgotten a file or digital item that we need. But our network is not available outside of the office. Now with an email notification to someone in the office, they can upload the file or item to myfamily and it’s password secure from the rest of the world. Finally, I also use it to communicate with members of our professional association. It allows me to share information such as minutes of meetings, financial records, photos and to poll the membership on various issues.

I first heard about myfamily.com while taking classes for my master’s degree in technology in education. I started my own family site, then told a Spanish teacher at my work (Cashmere High School) about how great it was. I mentioned I thought it would be great way for a class to share with each other and their families. She took the idea and ran with it. We started a site for the advanced Spanish students. They call in and speak in Spanish, post their original art, photos, etc. The students LOVE it and so does the teacher. I think it's a great tool for education. Thank you so much, your site ROCKS!

We have a rather large family, 11 children and now 14 grandchildren. We set up the site a number of years ago so that we could communicate better as a family. We have over 53 pages of family photos and over 236 pages of news. Whenever a family event happens (Christmas, birthdays, get-togethers, new grandchildren, etc.) it is put on the site so that all members know about it and can respond - and respond they do! Thus, the family has stayed closer together rather than being split apart because of lack of communications.

A couple of years ago, our youngest son was in Iraq for a year. When he could get to a computer he was able to post items on the site so that we knew how he was doing. The site was a great way to keep him involved so far away, with the family and to be able to communicate with him.

We have also invited my brother's family to participate on the site. He has six children and now we are able to keep up with his side of the family.

I'm in an Adult Beginners Spanish Class so I asked our teacher if I could set up a private site for the class on myfamily.com. We use the site for our homework and any questions we may have for the teacher. We use the "Voice News" feature a lot because we can speak in Spanish and our teacher can hear us and correct us if needed. It is a lot of fun. We also use the "Upcoming Events" feature to post our next class. The teacher has an Advanced class and now they want to join our site so it is growing. Thanks myfamily.com for a wonderful site.

Pamela McWhirter reconnects with her family using a private family web site from myfamily.com

I started a myfamily.com site after finding my family who had been missing for over 20 years. We had all lost track of each other after the death of our parents. Luckily we all reconnected on different websites. We had a reunion in July and I started us a site in August. It keeps us together even though we are miles apart. We can now keep up on everyone's life and are getting to know relatives that we didn't know before. Thank you myfamily.com we love you.
